When you step into my house, the first thing you will notice is the abundance of plants, ranging from succulents to orchids. One of my favorite quotes is “a home without books is a body without soul” and for me that quote is also apt for plants. Plants are life. The swirl of a Begonia leaf is life. A fern leaf curling up is life. A succulent propagating itself is life.
The veins in leaves are life. It is that part of leaf photography which I’m fascinated with; the various textures, colors (even in decay) and mostly the patterns made by a leaf’s veins. Mother Earth is an artist I admire greatly; every leaf is a little work of art; I am merely photographing them like one would photograph a painting.
